The Department of Mathematics at Govt College Nerwa was established in 2009. Since its inception, the department has been committed to delivering quality education and fostering analytical thinking among students. It is equipped with two lecture/seminar rooms and a faculty room, and is currently served by one regular faculty member.

The department offers two undergraduate programmes of three years' duration: B.Sc. Physical Science with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, and B.Sc./B.A. with Mathematics. These courses are designed to develop a strong foundation in mathematical concepts and their applications.

The department aims to encourage and enable students to cultivate mathematical curiosity, build confidence in solving theoretical and real-world problems, and acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue higher studies in mathematics. It also strives to instill a spirit of academic competitiveness and excellence in the field of teaching and learning.
