The vision of the Department of Hindi is to provide value-oriented education that enables students to pursue meaningful goals and build a better future. In the present era of globalization, Hindi literature plays a vital role in instilling human values, which are essential for the development of well-rounded individuals.
The department is committed to fostering an academic environment rooted in rational thinking, moral values, and a shared cultural heritage, all through the lens of Hindi language and literature. The courses offered are designed to prepare students with a strong foundation in all branches of Hindi language and literature.
At the undergraduate level, the department offers B.A. Hindi with options to study the subject as Major, Minor, or Compulsory. The primary objective of these courses is to develop students’ understanding and appreciation of the Hindi language and its rich literary tradition. The curriculum covers various aspects of Hindi literature, with emphasis on the historical evolution of the language, as well as focused studies in prose and poetry.
The department also intends to introduce an M.A. programme in Hindi in the near future. Research activities and co-curricular engagements are a regular feature of the department’s academic life. We welcome young minds eager to grow and contribute meaningfully to the cultural and intellectual landscape.
