NATIONAL CADET CORPS
Government College Nerwa achieved a significant milestone in October 2026 with the grant of permission to establish its National Cadet Corps (NCC) Unit under the leadership of the Hon’ble Principal, Prof. Sangeeta Jhagta. This initiative marks an important step towards strengthening the college’s commitment to discipline, leadership, national service, and the holistic development of students. The establishment of the NCC unit provides students with an opportunity to develop a spirit of patriotism, responsibility, and dedication to the nation.
Prof. Varinder Thakur was appointed as the first In-charge of the NCC Unit at Government College Nerwa. Under his guidance, the unit aims to encourage students to embrace the core values of the NCC, including unity, discipline, integrity, and selfless service. Through structured training and participation in NCC activities, cadets will have opportunities to develop leadership qualities, physical fitness, teamwork, confidence, and a sense of civic responsibility.
The college envisions its NCC unit as a platform for nurturing responsible citizens and future leaders who are committed to the service of the nation and society. By promoting the ideals of “Unity and Discipline,” the NCC Unit of Government College Nerwa aspires to contribute to the all-round development of students and inspire them to uphold the highest standards of character, service, and national pride.
