Botany, along with its allied branches, provides employment opportunities in research and education institutes, pharmacy, agriculture, horticulture ad forestry. Presently, the department focuses on undergraduate teaching-learning and appropriately combines classical teaching with innovative digital teaching tools to augment students’ understanding of the subjects.
Along with imparting theoretical knowledge emphasis is being led on practical classes also, instructions are given with the help of charts, live specimens, permanent slides and PowerPoint presentations. Interactive sessions are held in the routine classes also, class tests and presentation are held at regular intervals. The department has one small tissue culture lab equipped with equipments such as vertical laminar flow, deep freezer (-20), Oven, centrifuge machine pH meter, weighing balance etc. The vision is to impart quality education to the budding Botany professionals.
