NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME

The National Service Scheme (NSS) was launched on 24th September 1969 with the objective to develop a sense of social responsibility, community service, and leadership among students. Currently, the college has one government-funded NSS unit with a sanctioned strength of 100 Volunteers.

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a flagship youth program of the Government of India, operating under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. Launched in 1969, the birth centenary year of Mahatma Gandhi, the NSS embodies his ideals of selfless service and community engagement. Its fundamental aim is to develop the personality and character of student youth through voluntary community service, with the motto "Not Me But You" serving as its guiding principle. This motto emphasizes the importance of placing the community's welfare before individual interests. Through hands-on experiences, NSS volunteers gain practical exposure to societal problems, develop empathy, acquire leadership skills, and learn the value of teamwork. Currently, the college has one government-funded NSS unit with a sanctioned strength of 100 Volunteers.
